Our Story
Hi! I’m Leoni. I’m from Finland, but I moved to the Netherlands to study and decided to start my own vegan business.
Legumia began as a student venture fueled by a passion for plant-based food product development. As a developer, I realized that while the world was moving toward plant-based living, the legume aisle remained stuck in the past. I saw incredible, innovative products in the development phase that simply weren't reaching the market. I made it my mission to bridge that gap and bring these modern plant-based solutions to everyone.
Beyond the Can
For too long, legumes have been limited to the traditional "canned or dry bean" aisle, often only seen as a basic ingredient or a "meat substitute." Legumia is here to change that. We are moving beyond the can by creating something modern, convenient, and innovative. We believe that legumes deserve a spotlight of their own—not just as an alternative, but as the star of a high-quality, plant-based diet.
Rooted in Earth & Transparency
Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Legumes are naturally incredible for the planet, enriching the soil they grow in and requiring minimal resources compared to other protein sources. To honor this, we keep our philosophy simple and honest. We believe in 100% vegan, dairy-free ingredients and a "clean label" approach. Rather than relying on loud marketing claims, we let the inherent quality and natural integrity of our plant-based developments speak for themselves.
